Snap Puzzle
Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026 · Version 2026-09-24.1
This policy explains what Snap Puzzle collects, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.
Information Snap Puzzle collects
Snap Puzzle may collect account and authentication information, email and profile details, friend and invite activity, puzzle images and captions you choose to send, gameplay and delivery records such as puzzle size and type, scores, streaks, and daily challenge results, reactions, reports, blocks, and technical information needed to operate and secure the service. If you turn them on, Snap Puzzle also stores a push notification token and crash diagnostics. Clerk may process IP address, device information, and approximate location derived from IP for authentication and security.
Photos, camera, and photo library
Snap Puzzle accesses your camera or photo library only after you grant device permission and choose to take or select a photo. Selected photos may be uploaded to create, preview, share, and deliver puzzles. Photos can contain sensitive visual information, so only share images you are comfortable sending.
How information is used
Information is used to operate accounts, create and deliver puzzles, connect friends, send the optional puzzle alerts you turn on, keep scores, streaks, and daily challenge results, recover accounts, prevent abuse, moderate reports, troubleshoot problems, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
Puzzle recipients may receive the image, caption, sender information, and related gameplay details. Anyone who receives a shared puzzle link may be able to open it, and opening a friend’s invite link while signed in can add their puzzle to your account and connect you as friends. Your display name and daily challenge result (first-attempt time, moves, and whether a hint was used) are shown to your accepted friends, never to blocked players. Data may also be processed by service providers that operate authentication, database, image storage, notification delivery (Expo and Apple or Google), technical logging, app distribution, and hosting.
Sale, advertising, and tracking
Snap Puzzle does not currently sell personal data, share personal data for third-party targeted advertising, or use third-party advertising SDKs for cross-app advertising tracking.
Notifications
Puzzle notifications are optional and stay off until you turn them on in Profile. When they are on, Snap Puzzle stores your Expo push token and device platform in its AWS backend and sends a generic alert through Expo and Apple or Google when a friend sends you a puzzle or reacts to one. Alerts do not contain puzzle photos or captions. A registration expires after 60 days unless the app renews it, and you can turn alerts off in Profile or in your device settings.
Crash diagnostics
Share crash diagnostics in Profile is optional and off by default. When it is on, technical failure reports go to the Snap Puzzle AWS backend, linked to your account: app version, platform, error category, and stack line and column numbers. Reports do not contain raw error messages, photos, captions, emails, full file addresses, recordings, or screenshots. Up to five reports can wait on your device until you are online. Uploaded reports expire after 30 days and are removed when you delete your account. No third-party crash-reporting, analytics, or session-replay service is used.
Permissions and choices
You can revoke camera, photo library, and notification permissions in your device settings. You can also log out, delete the app, block users, report content, turn puzzle notifications or crash diagnostics off in Profile, or use the in-app account deletion control. Snap Puzzle does not request your address book or precise GPS location.
Retention and deletion
Snap Puzzle keeps information only as long as reasonably needed for gameplay, account recovery, puzzle delivery, security, support, legal compliance, backups, and abuse prevention. Shared puzzle photos, delivery records, daily challenge records, and crash diagnostics are scheduled to expire after 30 days, and notification registrations after 60 days without renewal. Account deletion can be started from Profile in the app. Some security, moderation, backup, provider, or legal records may remain for a limited period when reasonably necessary or required.
Security
Snap Puzzle uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authentication, backend access rules, provider controls, and limited access. No device, service, network, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Snap Puzzle is not directed to children under 13 and children under 13 should not create an account.

This policy may be updated when app features or legal requirements change. Important changes may require renewed agreement in the app.
